Six Stars for the Planet - Theodor di Ricco / Berlin April 2016

Nr. 1
Save the planet, kill yourself.
If you have not done this.  You do not get a star.  Go to Nr. 2.
Nr 2
Do not have children.
Same thing as nr. 1.  Creating children is a form of mortality.  Replacing yourself will not save the planet. Humans give out and consume a lot of CO2 in their lives.  Fewer humans, less carbon.  Less carbon, fewer climate related natural disasters. Fewer disasters, less human misery.
No children = one star.
Nr. 3
Do not own an automobile. Ride a bike. Kill two birds with one stone (environmental pun not intended); the need to exercise and to transport oneself. Or take mass transportation whenever possible. Vote in representatives that support mass transportation. People who like to drive should become taxi drivers. The auto is a luxury and should be viewed as such, not a means to an end.
No car, no children - two stars.
Nr. 4
Plastic or Paper?  Niether. Carry a cloth bag with you when shopping. No more paper kitchen towels, use cloth. Clean your poopshoot with water.  Hang your butt over the bathtub and rinse or take a shower after delivery.
No plastic or paper, no car, kids = three stars.
Nr. 5
Reduce your meat consumption. Start by not buying meat. You don't have to be a vegetarian or vegan.  Just don't purchase it.  You will be surprised to find out how much meat is on offer for free. This will save the Amazon forests as well as cows. Plus cows give off a lot of methane gas.
No meat, paper or plastic, cars or kids but still alive = only four stars.
Nr. 6
Buy local, avoid global. You have a choice between organic apples from New Zealand or those from 50km from where you live.  Only difference, your local apples are slightly more expensive.  Do the right thing.
---
No one alive can receive a six-star rating. Those with a four or a five star rating should be able to sell your reduced carbon emissions back to the state. If nations and multinationals can do it, we the people should be allowed to do it also.  After all, there is only one planet for all of us …
